Our History

The William IV, one of London’s most historic pubs, is your go-to destination in NW London.

Built during the reign of the Sailor King, William IV, our pub has been a proud feature of Harrow Road for centuries.

William IV was known as The Sailor King having served in the Navy in the years before his reign. There are plenty of nautical decorations throughout the pub and hotel. Our Clarence room also pays tribute to William’s time as Duke of Clarence and the Nelson Room marks his friendship with Admiral Horatio Nelson.

Our Values

Our passion is food and hospitality and you’ll find this from the minute you walk through the door. As a completely independent business, we are proud to feature small producers on our wine list and local suppliers on our menu. We are always bringing exciting new dishes and drinks as the season dictates.

The star of the show for us is our delicious Sunday Roast, in our garden or by the roaring fire; it’s the perfect family meal, time to spend together with a pint of real ale or a warming Malbec. Booking in advance is highly recommended.

Famous for our gastro pub classics (fish and chips, rarebit, pigs in blanket etc..) and our fresh, seasonal menu, our pub and guesthouse is the perfect spot for lunch, dinner, or a relaxing night’s sleep.

Looking for a function room? We’re ideally situated near West London Crematorium and Kensal Green Cemetery, Kensal Green underground station and Kensal Rise station. We can help organise your engagement, wake, retirement or birthday.
